Throughout the school year, we will take part in whole class novel studies.  During this time, we will read portions of the novel in class together, and some of the reading will be done at home.  In most cases, 1-2 chapters will be assigned as home reading with a corresponding reading response page.  By completing our novel studies in this way, we are able to free up time in class to discuss the themes and plot progression - much like a book club.

The at-home reading of the novels may count towards their 20 minute reading daily requirement and as such may be entered into their READING LOG. Students will also take AR tests on these novels: points will count towards quarterly AR goals. These AR quizzes may also be taken as a grade.
