High Touch High Tech

Through discovery style learning and inquiry based dialogue, children are engaged in exciting science projects that encourage them to explore the many wonders of science. We come to you and bring the science experiments to school. Our elementary education science experiences will excite your students, and develop a lifelong love of science.

 

Lab fees will be due in 2 installments (can be paid in full on 9/6/2018)

  • $33 due on or before 9/6/18

  • $30 balance due on or before 10/26/18

Dates for HTHT

  • September 11th – Gold Rush: Step into the world of Geology. Learn about gems, rocks and minerals and where they came from. Uncover the mysteries of rock formation and crystalline structure. Pan for real gems and keep what you find. Perform acid tests and more as we classify our gems. Find out why gems are so precious.

  • October 16th – Smarty Plants: Discover the amazing world of plants. Learn about photosynthesis and germination. Have a hands-on look at roots, shoots, and transportation inside a plant. Get all the “seedy” facts! Make your own terrarium.​

  • November 12th – Ecosystems: Join the "Chain Gang", the food chain that is. Explore the laws of nature that apply to the world’s ecosystems. Have FUN as we learn about predator/prey relationships, and dissect real owl pellets. Discover why the Sun is really important and take home UV detecting beads.

  • December 16th- The Power of Light: Find out how amazing light is. Discover ROYGBIV and the electromagnetic spectrum. Uncover the mysteries behind sound and light energy. Become "energized" as we learn about batteries and make light bulbs light up!

  • January 8th – Matter Matters: Discover all states of matter. We will build our own molecules with yummy "atoms" and become pH detectives as we test for acids and bases. Learn the difference between chemical and physical changes as we make "slushies" to eat! (Higher level matter program)​

  • February 10th – Scientific MethodStudents will learn the process of the scientific method; form and test their hypothesis in a hands-on fun environment.

  • May 19th- Cosmic Capers: Travel through space as we explore our solar system. Discover the forces that keep us "on track". See how our place in the solar system affects us every day and night of the year. Launch rockets. learn about our plates, the moon, eclipses, and much more!

High Tech High Touch provides highly interactive science lab experiments and lessons by trained scientists.  These programs are totally hands on and meet Next Generation Standards for Science and are based off a S.T.E.A.M. curriculum.  Each of our scheduled programs have been chosen to compliment our fourth grade units of study.
